How do I connect my mobile device to the eduroam network?
Answer
These settings will connect your mobile device to the eduroam wireless network. You will only need to follow these steps once per device.
Connect Apple iOS Device to eduroam
Connect Android Device to eduroam
If you experience issues connecting your device to eduroam, please view these troubleshooting articles.
- Open the settings on your device.
- Select Wi-Fi to reveal the available wireless networks.
- Select eduroam.
- Enter your BGSU email address and password.
- Accept the network certificate by selecting Trust.
- Open your phone's Settings menu.
- Select eduroam from the list of available networks.
- Enter the following information:
- Method 1
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
- CA Certificate: select Do not validate
- Identity: username@bgsu.edu
- Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
- Password: BGSU password
- Method 2 (Domain needed)
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
- CA Certificate: select Do not validate
- Domain: bgsu.edu
- Identity: username@bgsu.edu
- Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
- Password: BGSU password
- Method 3 (Android 12+)
- EAP Method: PEAP
- Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2
- CA Certificate: select Use system certificates
- Online Certificate Status: select Do not verify
- Domain: bgsu.edu
- Identity: username@bgsu.edu
- Anonymous Identity: Leave Blank
- Password: BGSU password
- Select Connect.
- You are now connected to the eduroam network.
Please note: If you are using a Google Pixle 6, there are additional settings to update:
- Select Use system certificates under CA Certificate option.
- Select Do not verify under Online Certificate Status.
