How do I use cables to connect my laptop to the available classroom technology?

Expand the panels in this article for instructions on connecting the laptop to the available classroom technology via cables and for troubleshooting information.
Helpful Tips:
- Classrooms do not include HDMI cables. If you plan to connect your own device to the classroom AV system, please be sure to bring one with you.
- Certain laptops or tablets may also require adapters, which are not provided.
- Power-down the projection system when you are finished using the equipment.

Connect Laptop to Classroom Technology
- Locate the cable connections at the instructor station.
- Connect your device with an HDMI cable (some computers will require a USB-C to HDMI adapter).
- With the projection system ON, locate and press HDMI on the control panel. (Preferred system resolution is 1920x1080).
Troubleshooting: Blank Screen or No Signal
Toggle Device Output
- Windows:
- Press the windows key + P on your keyboard.
- Select Duplicate.
- Mac:
- Open System Settings.
- Select Displays.
- Select Mirror Displays.
Restart Device
Restart your laptop or tablet with the HDMI cable still connected.
Toggle Display Mute
Press the Display Mute button on the control panel.
