Classroom Audio Not Working

Issue

  • When playing a DVD, the audio doesn't work from the classroom computer 
  • The audio is not working in the classroom 
  • The sound quality in the classroom is extremely poor 
  • I hear sounds from the speakers when no audio is playing 
  • The audio in this room is fuzzy and hard to hear 

Environment

BGSU classrooms

Resolution

  1. Confirm that audio is not muted on the touch panel
  2. Confirm that the speakers are not muted on the classroom computer
  3. Confirm that the audio on the video player (e.g. YouTube/VLC) is not muted or turned down. 
  4. Confirm that Extron HDMI is set as the audio output in the computer’s audio settings. 
  5. Change the input on the control panel to a different source, and then back again. 
  6. Restart the classroom computer
  7. If these instructions do not resolve your issue, contact Classroom Technology Support at 419-372-9400 and provide the following information: 
    • Location of classroom, including building name and room number 
    • Type of problem 
    • Troubleshooting steps attempted
