Users must be connected to the BGSU eduroam network in order to complete this setup. For information on connecting your device to eduroam, click here.
While following these steps, if you are prompted to save credentials for Student Printing, do not allow it. Saving your credentials will cause problems the next time you change your password.
Installing the Mobility Print Driver
- Navigate to the Apple Symbol (top left) > System Preferences
- Select Printers and Scanners.
- Select the Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax button under the Printers list.
- The Add Printer box will pop-up.
- Select bg-print-bw (black and white printing) or bg-print-color (color printing).
- If neither options appear, Limit IP address tracking must be disabled in Wifi settings (see Mobility Print Troubleshooting below).
- The Name, Location and Use should automatically populate, if not, they should be listed as follows:
- Name: bg-print-bw or bg-print-color depending on your selection
- Location: printserver3.
- Use: Secure AirPrint.
- If Secure AirPrint is NOT displayed:
- Close the Add Printer dialog
- Disconnect from the network
- Reconnect to the network
- Try again. If you still cannot see Secure AirPrint, contact Information Technology Services.
- Select Add.
Mobility Print Troubleshooting
Disable IP address Tracking:
1. Verify connection to eduroam
2. Navigate to System Settings (Apple Symbol)
3. Select Wi-Fi
4. Select Details…
5. Scroll Down and Toggle off Limit IP Address Tracking
6. BG-Print-BW and BG-Print-BW should now appear.
KeyChain Access:
Incorrect or outdated credentials may be stored in KeyChain Access that may prevent Mobility Print to work correctly.
1 Use Spotlight (top right), search for KeyChain Access.
2 Open KeyChain Access.
3 From the list of passwords, remove the password that shows bgsuprint.bgsu.edu.
4 Attempt to print again; you should be prompted for your current MyBGSU username and password.
