Question

How do I pan and zoom in Canvas Studio?

Answer

  1. After you have recorded your video, select the Edit button.
  2. Click on the timeline where you would like to zoom
  3. Click anywhere on your recording to bring up the Main Video menu.
  4. In the video preview, use the small blue circles, or handles, to zoom into the area you want to focus on. You can click and drag the box to reposition it on the video preview if you need to.
  5. On the video timeline click the +O to create the first edit point, where the zoom will start.
  6. The menu bar above the video timeline shows you how many seconds it will take to ease into the zoom. By default, it will be set to one second, but you can increase or decrease this number to make the zoom happen faster or slower in the video.
  7. You can preview your edit by selecting Play.
  8. Click on your timeline where you would like to zoom out or have your video pan to a new spot
  9. Go back to the Main Video menu and click and drag the handles to a new size, drag the preview to a different place on the video to pan, or click Reset to have the preview show your entire video
  10. On the video timeline click the +O to set your second edit point
  11. Preview the edit by clicking the play button again.
  12. If you are happy with the edit, select OK and your video is ready to be uploaded to Canvas.
