Starting a Webex Meeting to Begin Now


How do I use my personal room to host a meeting NOW in Webex?


To start a meeting using your personal room, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to

  2. Select Sign In and log in using your BGSU credentials.  

  3. Select the green Start Meeting button. 

  4. Select the drop-down to choose between using the desktop app or the web app

  5. Choose your preferred audio and preferred video connection. 

  6. Select Start Meeting again. 

  7. Invite others to join your meeting. 

    • Desktop AppSelect Participant from the top menu followed by Invite and RemindType in the email address(es) of the people you want to invite and select Send. You can also select Copy Meeting Link from the Participant drop-down and share that with participants.  

    • Web App: Select the “i” icon in the top left corner of the meeting window. Copy the Meeting Link URL and send this link to participants.  

  8. Use the buttons along the bottom of the meeting window to control the available options, such as mute, share content, record, chat, participants, etc.  

  9. To end your meeting select the red X icon

Please Note: The Meeting Link URL mentioned above is unique to the host’s username. The link can be shared/hosted as a static link for participants to join at any time. However, if the host does not join the meeting in their personal room, attendees will not be able to join.
