How do I connect my personal computer to the Ethernet network?
Answer
- Connect your device to an Ethernet port in your room using an Ethernet cable before continuing to Step 2.
- Open a browser and connect to http://netreg.bgsu.edu.*
- You will be directed to register your device.
- Select the Detect button to obtain your MAC address.
- Select the Register button to register your device.
- Reboot your device to complete the registration.
- Registration can take up to 10 minutes to complete.
*If the NetReg website does not display automatically or after typing http://netreg.bgsu.edu in a browser, try connecting your personal computer to the eduroam wireless network first.
Please Note: Many newer laptops and devices no longer have an Ethernet port. An appropriate adapter for the device will need to be purchased in order to connect to the Ethernet.
