Configure Mobile Number for SMS Password Reset

How do I configure my mobile number in order to have the ability to reset my password via SMS text message?

You can configure your mobile phone number in order to reset your BGSU password via SMS text message by following the steps below. This configuration is used for password resets only and does not have to be the same phone number used for your BGSU personal information.

Please Note: Your mobile provider's standard rates for sending and receiving text messages still apply.

1. Log in to MyBGSU. 
2. Select IT Service Desk from the top navigation menu.
3. Select BGSU Password Management from the left navigation menu.
4. Select Edit Profile.
5. Scroll down the page to the Forgot Password Text Message section.
6. Select Add Phone Number.
7. Select the Country where your phone is registered from the drop-down menu.
8. Enter your Phone Number.
9. Select Send Code.
10. Enter the passcode you receive on your phone and select Verify.
11. Select Done. 
12. Your mobile device should now be set up for SMS password reset capabilities.
    • Answering security question is still required to reset password.
