Scanning Documents With the OneDrive Mobile App


How can I scan documents, whiteboards, business cards or photos using the OneDrive mobile app?


To scan documents using the OneDrive mobile app, follow these steps:

  1. Open the OneDrive app and select Scan (camera icon) from the menu at the bottom of the screen.
  2. Use the lightning icon to turn the flash on/off as necessary.
  3. From the bottom of the screen, select the type of item you would like to scan. On smaller screens, you may need to swipe left to see all available options. Options include:
    • Document
    • Whiteboard
    • Business Card
    • Photo
  4. Tap the white circle icon to scan the item.
  5. Select the plus sign (+) to add additional pages.
    • You can scan up to 10 pages per scan.
  6. Select from the options at the top of the screen to crop, rotate, add text or highlight
  7. Modify filters or change the scan mode by selecting Filters from the bottom of the screen. 
  8. When finished, select Done.
  9. Name your file.
  10. Save to OneDrive by selecting the checkmark option. 
    • All items are automatically saved as a PDF document.
  11. Your file is now available in Onedrive.
  12. To Share the file directly from the mobile app Select the Share option (box with an arrow pointing up).
